…and it was better than ever. There was a lot of alcohol consumed (I’d say 70% whiskey, 20% gin, 10% other–coconut rum, champagne, etc). I went to Sushi Ichiban twice. My back is tan. I walked and walked and walked. I read four books (mostly while lounging in Reyna’s yard).
On Saturday, I convinced my friends to accompany me to the Starlight Parade (The Portland Rose Festival’s illuminated night parade).
I’m experiencing a bit of intensified Pacific Northwest homesickness…a sure sign of a good trip. I would like to thank the following Portlandians for adding to the fun:
Reyna and Mary, for being fine, sharp-witted hostesses, as always;
Zach, for walking all over the city with me and applying sunscreen to my back every 3-4 hours;
Mike, for escorting me out on the town several times (and agreeing to drink $5 champagne);
Robyn, for helping me remember an important element of my book, merely by talking to me for a few hours over drinks,
Alana, for understanding the importance of a trip to the Lloyd Center.
I’ll be back tomorrow with Chapter 6!
